Android device performance lags behind Apple (GOOG, GOOGL, AAPL)
A good summary on how Android and iOS devices perform in the market. Android has the bigger market share but iOS is still more attractive to marketers and retailers as it generates more revenue.
Android smartphones suffer from a significantly higher number of failure rates than iOS devices, according to a new report from Blanco Technology Group.
In the first quarter of 2016, Android devices recorded a failure rate of 44% compared to a 25% device failure rate for iPhones. Android’s failure rate was especially high for devices in Asia, which accounted for 55% of Android device crashes globally, up slightly from 50% in Q4 2015. This was followed by Europe with 35% and North America with 27%.
Samsung devices accounted for a plurality (43%) of device failures during Q1 2016. In particular, the Galaxy S6 and S5 were the most common devices to suffer from system crashes, with failure rates of 7% and 6%, respectively.
