Digital platforms are improving profits, becoming a priority for CEOs
Digital Transformation is not a concern of the IT department anymore. It becomes a matter of the C-level suite.
- IT is now a priority for almost one-third of CEOs, according to a new Gartner study released this week. That’s the highest placement for technology in the history of the survey, the research firm reports.
- “Almost twice as many CEOs are intent on building up in-house technology and digital capabilities as those plan on outsourcing it, 57% and 20%, respectively,” said Mark Raskino, vice president and Gartner Fellow, in an announcement.
- Nearly 60% of respondents said their digital platforms and ecosystems have already improved profits, while 20% of CEOs are now taking a “digital-first” approach to business change. The survey includes responses from 388 CEOs.
IT isn’t just for CIOs anymore. Digital transformation efforts are growing among all sorts of companies. And as more businesses realize the benefits and advantages such efforts afford, technology is becoming a priority even at the highest level of a company.
