Finally – Android Wear works with iOS!
You know I am a fan of the Apple Watch and of all functionality I get from it (view my article on the Apple Watch). However, I am not a big fan of the design. It looks like a smaller iPhone, like a mini computer you carry around on your wrist. I got used to it and don’t find it as bad anymore as I found it when I first saw it in the Apple keynote, however, I thought Apple would come up with something fancier, something cooler, something that is an eye-catcher.
At the same time, I am seeing all these watches from LG, Huawei, Asus, Motorola etc. that have quite a nice design and actually look like a watch.
However, I think they might be too big for a woman’s wrist. Anyway, I thought, what a pity that these watches cannot be used with an iPhone. But then, I see the following article this morning and am thinking, finally, there it is! Pairing the Android Wear watches with iPhones is now possible! Of course, not all watches are supported (basically, you need newer models). You’ll find the basic Android apps like Weather or Translate, however, third-party apps are not supported as they run on iOS and cannot communicate with the watch. But you can still get notifications, check your fitness tracker, send speech commands, and choose among a couple of watch faces.
So, if you just want to use basic functionality on a smartwatch like the above-mentioned then it is now possible to choose your smartwatch independent from your phone! 🙂

I hope you liked my two cents!
Have a great day!
