iOS 10 tips and tricks: How to ‘delete’ built-in apps like Calculator, Maps, Notes, more
While it wasn’t officially announced during the presentation of iOS 10 features at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday, June 13, it is now possible for users to remove default apps from their Home screen.
When you ‘delete’ a built-in app from your Home screen, it doesn’t actually delete the actual app binary. What is removed is the app’s icon from the Home screen, user data, default links, Siri handling etc. However, all the built-in apps combined use less than 150 MB storage, so they will not be taking up much space on your device.
In order to remove default apps from your Home screen, you will obviously need to have the latest operating system installed on your device.
