Mobile technology and the habits of millennial travelers

I don’t know about you, but I can’t imagine traveling without my smartphone. Mobile apps that facilitate travel have become such an essential part of trip planning and execution that it’s difficult to remember how people ever managed without them.
When I’m traveling, I use TripIt to store all my reservations (which I can conveniently forward from confirmation emails), Yelp to find top restaurants and attractions based on my location and Google Maps to navigate through unfamiliar cities. Even for trips that involve getting out into the wilderness, I still rely on my smartphone to get me to the right trailhead, campground or ranger station and for taking photographs of mountaintop vistas and, of course, my dog.
